One21 Safety

PRIVACY POLICY

Your privacy matters.

Effective September 23, 2026

About this policy

This Privacy Policy explains how One21 Safety (“One21,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, protects, and shares information when you use the One21 website, mobile application, safety-reporting tools, Ava AI guide, or Trusted Circle messaging services.

Information we collect

Depending on the feature you use, we may collect account details such as your name, email address, age range, school or district code, telephone number, Trusted Circle contact information, consent records, device and technical information, support requests, and information you choose to provide.

Anonymous safety reports are designed to minimize identifying information and are stored separately from the reporter’s account. Users should avoid including names, addresses, or other identifying details unless they are necessary for safety.

How we use information

  • Provide and secure One21 services.
  • Manage accounts, age-appropriate access, and Trusted Circle participation.
  • Deliver requested safety alerts and service messages.
  • Review safety reports and support authorized school or organizational workflows.
  • Prevent fraud, abuse, security incidents, and misuse.
  • Comply with applicable legal, safety, and regulatory obligations.

SMS and mobile information

Trusted Circle SMS participation is voluntary. Adding a person’s number does not enroll that person or trigger an invitation message. The person must independently begin opt-in by texting JOIN to (701) 291-1710 and then reply Y to confirm enrollment. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out or HELP for assistance.

Mobile opt-in information and consent records will not be sold, rented, or shared with third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes. We may share information with service providers that help us deliver messages, operate the service, prevent fraud, or comply with law. Those providers may use the information only to perform services for One21.

Guardian Mode and device security

When you start Guardian Mode, One21 schedules the expiration on its server so the timer can continue if the app is backgrounded or closed. If location sharing is enabled, the location captured when the timer starts may be included in the expiration alert. Marking yourself safe cancels the pending server timer.

On supported native devices, One21 stores the Discreet Mode PIN verifier using platform-protected secure storage. The plaintext PIN is not sent to One21 servers.

How information may be shared

We do not sell personal information. We may disclose limited information to service providers working on our behalf; authorized schools or organizations when an approved relationship and applicable permissions exist; emergency, child-protection, law-enforcement, or other authorities when disclosure is legally required or necessary to address an imminent safety threat; and parties involved in a lawful business transaction, subject to appropriate protections.

Children and teen users

Independent One21 accounts are intended for people age 13 or older. Children under 13 may view public safety resources, but account creation, Ava, Trusted Circle, and identifiable reporting require an approved parent, guardian, school, or other verified process. Teen users receive age-appropriate safety notices.

Security, retention, and deletion

We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information. No system is completely secure. We retain information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described here, including safety, legal, audit, and regulatory requirements. Account deletion is available inside My One21. Certain anonymous safety records or records subject to legal retention requirements may remain separated from the deleted account.

Your choices

You may update or delete your account through My One21. Trusted Circle members may reply STOP to end SMS messages. You may also decline optional features or avoid providing information that is not required for the service you choose to use.

Policy updates

We may update this policy as One21’s services or legal obligations change. The effective date above will be revised when material changes are published.
